As the Band's leader and founder, Peter Kas is influenced mainly by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley and Englebert Humperdinck for Singing and Gene Krupa, Joe Morello, Art Blakey, Louie Bellson, Buddy Rich, and Max Roach for Drumming and Percussion. He possesses all the best qualities of his legendary influences and is best known for his hard work ethic, great voice, stage presence, unlimited vocal range and dynamic drumming and gigantic passion for Classic Jazz.

Peter became a singer as a child in Church Choir. He also studied voice at Riordan High School with James Mazzafero and was the Lead Singer in the School's Choir. As a Singer and drummer, he began playing Jazz Standards with friends in High School.

Well versed in different styles of music, Pete was a Music Minor at SF State University specializing in Performance. As a Music Minor at San Francisco State University, he also studied Choir and Voice.

At a very young age, he also incorporated a lot double bass drum technique and studied the art of double bass drumming for different styles in music.

As a teenager, he went to drum clinics, studied and learned from legendary drummers in person; Drummers such as Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham, Gregg Bissonette and Joe Morello.

Being the star and main drummer in the San Francisco State University Big Band, Peter played fairs, outdoor jazz festivals. He also gained experience in successfully performing Jazz, Big Band, Funk, Reggae and Latin Jazz with a jazz combo band he created from his SF State Jazz improvisational class. With the SF State Big band and jazz combo band he performed great legendary Jazz standards, which featured the drums as a leading role; Tunes such as Take Five by Dave Brubeck, Skin Deep by Duke Ellington and Sing, Sing, Sing by Benny Goodman.

He thus became a drummer known for his personality as well as outstanding meter, passion and showmanship. Playing as a session and live performer for various rock and Jazz Bands, he tasted success as a headliner in major clubs, theatres, restaurants and fesitivals throughout the Bay Area.

Peter today writes original Jazz, Top 40 and Classic Rock songs and is now gigging with Jazzmatazz. He plans to get a major record deal with his originals eventually.

Peter currently works as a drum instructor and oncall live/studio musician.

Peter also plays drums for Classic Hard Rock Tribute Band, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, www.sabbathbloodysabbath.com.  He plans on elevating Jazzmatazz to one of the most successful Jazz bands in the entire world. Peter Kas has a rare presence and showmanship, which is more than the price of admission. Watching a Jazzmatazz show, you can't help see and hear the character and presence of his singing along with his rhythmic and amazing drumming.
