RODNEY BURGE
PIANO, BASS AND KEYBOARDS

Rodney Burge has been playing piano since his teens and has had a musical career spanning over fifty years. He is self taught and has been playing professionally since 1970. During the 1970's, Rodney played at the Ahwahne Hotel in Yosemite, Ca. Mort Lindsey, Merv Griffin's Musical director, hired Rodney to perform at the Hilton. Mort and his wife loved Rodney's playing and thus gave him his first break. Mort, also an arranger for Barbara Streisand and Judy Garland, hired Rodney to regularly play at the Beverly Hilton. Rodney also played at President Ronald Reagan's home in Bel Air, in 1992, courtesy of Merv Griffin Enterprises. From 1988 to 1992, he worked on and off for Merv Griffin Enterprises including a thirteen month stint at the Beverley Hilton doing solo piano. Rodney performed six hours a day, six days a week for fourteen months from 1991 to 1992.
Rodney then moved back to his home in the SF Bay area in 1992 and has since held a steady job at Scott's Seafood performing solo piano since 1995 in Walnut Creek, Ca . Rodney is the driving piano sound behind Jazzmatazz and is filled with excitement and enthusiasm for the band. Rodney is also an experienced master of the Left Hand Bass and thus doubles on Bass for the band. He looks forward to lasting success with Jazzmatazz. Rodney is also excited and ready to share his gift of piano playing with all the Jazzmatazz supporters and fans.
